Shared Ownership Homes in Claughton on Brock and elsewhere

We have been approached by Redwing which is part of the Regenda Group. There are afforable shared ownership properties available for elligibe first time buyers. A quick overview of the scheme and the main requirements for eligibility is given:- - You must be a first time buyer or first time buyer after a relationship breakdown; - Your household income must be under £80,000 per annum The scheme offers purchasers the potential to buy a share ranging from 40-75% (initially, based on an affordability assessment) of the value of the property, meaning they require less deposit but will be living in a property valued at considerable more than they may be able to initially afford. There will be a reduced rent payable on the share owned by Redwing Living. The intention of the reduced rent is to allow the purchaser to save up to buy more shares in the future with the overall goal of eventually owning 100% of the property and the freehold. The open grassed play area at Woburn Way and Ashfield

We commented in June about the poor quality of grass cutting and lack of grass removal from this open area. We have seen some improvements in the past couple of months but we need to continue to monitor this. Councillor Dewhurst (who lives in Ashfield Rise) will no doubt bring any deterioration in the service level to the Parish Council's attention.

The New Residential and Retail Developments located between Garstang Road and the A6

Residents will now most probably be aware of the new developments that have commenced on the fields to the south of Cock Robin Lane and Joe Lane between the A6 by-pass and Garstang Road. We now understand from the Residential developers that this will be known as Beacon Park. The Retail shopping area will also be known as Beacon Retail Park. In addition to this already permitted development a new outline planning application for a 200 units residential retirement village is being appraised at the moment. This is proposed to be located on land at Westfield Farm due west of the 200 housing plus shops development. Clearly these developments will have a dramatic effect upon this area and will further increase the pressure on infrastructure and services. The Parish Councils of Claughton on Brock and Catterall are both concerned to ensure that as the area grows in population that the amenities needed to protect the welfare of residents and the rural life-style we all enjoy are both protected and enhanced. The two Councils will be working together to evaluate the implications of these developments and will seek to establish realistic and deliverable plans to assist the transition processes as our local population and environment alters. The views or residents are invited and should be submitted to us using the links available on this website or in writing to the Parish Clerk.
